Nordic LNG signs an agreement with FordonsGas Sverige AB for supply of liquefied natural gas to the first LNG filling station in Sweden.
More and more truck producers invest in development of heavy trucks that can run on methane gas. FordonsGas Sverige AB currently constructs the first liquefied methane gas filling station in Sweden, located at Stig Center in Gothenburg. The station will serve both LNG vehicles as well as CNG vehicles.

Volvo Truck will launch heavy trucks powered by Methane-diesel engine making it possible to run a diesel engine on methane gas in combination with diesel. The diesel technique is superior other engine types when it comes to efficiency and power output in a heavy truck, and usage of methane gas will have a positive effect on the reduction of CO2 emissions. Liquefied methane gas is a must to be able to carry enough gas for long distances and this is the reason for FordonsGas to build the first filling station in Sweden.
Nordic LNG will supply the first load of LNG to FordonsGas in September, 2010 says Peter Blomberg, Managing Director of Nordic LNG, and continues; we believe that the usage of methane gas as fuel for heavy trucks will grow in the future and anticipate a rapid establishment of filling stations in strategic places across Norway and Sweden.
